Registration Information

Welcome to GHOFN Registration

NOTE: Some Free-Net Policies may change, and changes may be made to the Registered User Agreement. Please check here and review both the Policies and the Registered User Agreement, and note the requirements to activate a Free-Net account. Usage will denote acceptance of current GHOFN policies and terms of service.

To become a registered user of the Free-Net--which means having your own User ID and Password--there are three steps:

  1. Read the Greater Houston Free-Net Policies. You will have to sign to having read and agreed to them (see the next step).
  2. Fill out the On-Line Registration Form. You MUST complete the on-line registration to get an account.
  3. Print and sign the Registered User Agreement (which includes a place for a photocopy of your picture ID) and sign the Usage Agreement. You MUST return a completed copy of the Registered User Agreement to the Free-Net office to get an account. Do NOT send your form in until AFTER you have completed the on-line registration. Send or bring the Registered User Agreement to:

  4. The current dial-up number to connect to your GHOFN account is 713-966-1234.
Once we have received and processed your form, your account will be activated. Please allow 5 business days for processing.

The Registered User Agreement can be sent to your computer's printer by using the up & down arrow keys to highlight the phrase "Registered User Agreement" here or above, pressing Enter or Return to view the document and then pressing the letter P. If this method does not work, activate the session capture or session log feature of your communications program now and then press Enter to follow the Registered User Agreement link. Once in that document, use the Spacebar to show subsequent pages until you have reached the bottom of the document. The form will then have been captured to your session capture log, in the form of a text file on your computer.
